Bobby Gruenewald is a visionary leader at the intersection of faith and technology. As Pastor and Innovation Leader at Life.Church—one of the largest multi-site churches in the United States with approximately 45 physical campuses and a thriving global online presence—Bobby has helped pioneer new ways for the Church to reach people through digital platforms.
He is the founder of the YouVersion Bible App, a groundbreaking tool that has been installed on over 800 million devices worldwide, offering Scripture access in every country and in thousands of languages. In collaboration with Senior Pastor Craig Groeschel, Bobby has also helped shape initiatives like Church Online and the Bible App for Kids, redefining how churches can fulfill the Great Commission in the digital age.
Before joining Life.Church in 2001, Bobby launched and sold two successful tech companies and served as an advisor to various startups and venture capital firms. His expertise and forward-thinking approach have earned him national and international recognition, including being named to Fast Company’s list of the 100 Most Creative People in Business.
A trusted voice in innovation and ministry, Bobby serves on the board of Alpha International and is frequently featured in outlets such as The New York Times, CNN, TechCrunch, and Stanford Business Magazine. He and his wife, Melissa, live in Edmond, Oklahoma, where they are raising their four children and continuing to serve the Church through creativity, purpose, and vision.
